For many guests, a visit to a Disney Park wouldn’t be complete without catching a parade. Whether it’s the thrill of seeing which Disney character comes up next, or that moment when your favorite character waves right at you, there’s just something magical about a Disney parade.
Disney Just recently announced that a new procession, the Disney Festival of Fantasy Parade, will march into Magic Kingdom Park in spring 2014. By Guillermo de la Cova @Gdelacova On april 22nd, Disney's Animal Kingdom celebrated its 15th Anniversary with music, parties and of course animals! The celebrations started early morning with an Opening Ceremony in front of the Tree of Life which featured all the characters, actors from Finding Nemo: The Musical, the Lion King Musical and cultural representations of all the lands there. After the ceremony, all guests were invited to visit every land on the park to see what special activities where there for them to have fun, also during the day special food, drinks and merchandise was being sold around the park. Just like every Disney Park anniversary. As all Disney Celebrations go, this event was packed with fun and great activities that keep us all wanting more from Animal Kingdom. Nothing new was announced on this celebration regarding the Avatar expansion, but maybe in a near future we will be seeing some changes coming. I'm sure we will see more from Animal Kingdom in the next few years! One of the monorails on the Magic Kingdom Park/Resorts loop now features the cast of Disney•Pixar’s new movie “Monsters University,” including Mike, Sulley and a host of new characters we’ll meet when it comes to theaters June 21. Last time we saw them on-screen, Mike Wazowski and James P. Sullivan seemed to be an inseparable pair, but that wasn’t always the case. From the moment these two mismatched monsters met they couldn’t stand each other – and that’s the story told in “Monsters University,” which lets us take a fun look back at how Mike and Sulley met and eventually became the best of friends. In case you haven’t seen it Check out the clip below and be sure to look for it in theaters in 3D June 21. Here is a look at some new items with this year’s logo coming to Disney’s Hollywood Studios on May 17, 2013! The logo is featured on numerous items including a Disney pin, a coffee mug, a photo frame and more. Disney Design Group also created a unique Star Wars Weekends “title crawl” image for merchandise, which reflects on the opening title sequences from the Star Wars motion pictures. Disney is trying a few new things this year, like an oversized calendar with 13 previous Star Wars Weekends posters. Each poster measures 12-inches by 18-inches, and can be removed from the calendar for framing. They are also introducing a deluxe autograph and photograph book. The popular Star Tours nametags using Aurebesh will be returning. This year, a new black name tag will appear for Annual Passholders only! The New toys look amazing! Jedi Mickey’s Starfighter is a great example of that! Disney will also have new Muppets action figures and new die-cast cars of Disney•Pixar “Cars” characters portraying Star Wars characters. Finally, we will have new Vinylmation at this year’s event including a limited release mystery series; a Vinylmation, Jr. series with droids; and two limited edition figures – a removable, 3-inch figure of Han Solo in Carbonite, and a 9-inch Jabba the Hutt figure with a 1.5-inch Salacious B. Limited Time Magic has been a total success on bringing special one-of-a-kind moments to the parks, and this time they are doing it with something special that has being around the parks for a long time. The Dapper Dans, Main Street U.S.A original Performers. The Dapper Dans tip their hats to a new kind of music that they discovered while "strolling through the park one day." Watch for this winsome quartet and their all-new medley that will have "Everybody" seeing "What Makes You Beautiful." But they won't be saying "Bye Bye Bye" to barbershop completely—after all, the Dapper Dans are the "Original Boy Band."
